I think once upon and time maybe there were talks about something like this, but it just didn’t pan out because Bungie does not own the Halo IP anymore. It just doesn’t make sense to me that they’d hide a wide range of Halo themed items that could potentially sell people on the whole thing just for…fun? While I do believe the Anniversary Event may have some secret stuff, I just have a hard time believing Bungie is keeping an entire collection of Halo items under wraps. And I mean, fundamentally, why hide this? Bungie is trying to sell $25 Anniversary packs and $100 Witch Queen bundles.Many have noted that there are tiny pieces of the Bungie streetwear ornament set like Needler shoulders and the Arbiter’s gauntlet that show up in the armor, so this may be the “compromise” if they’re not doing anything official with Halo. Also, it’s not like we are 100% lacking in Halo nods.But a lot of this, like the pastebin leak, was based on quite old information, and we’ve already seen some things change from those leaks as plans have shifted. Others say that weapons like the CE Magnum, the Battle Rifle or the Gravity Hammer could appear as legendaries or exotics. Some are wild and already disproven, like the concept that the dungeon for the anniversary was going to take place on a Halo ring (unless we’re diving into some sort of Nine wormhold hidden in the Loot Cave to the Halo universe). The theory is that this could be a Master Chief helmet.

We have not seen what is being pitched as a “unique helmet ornament” with the paid event pass, and we never see ornaments without full sets outside of exotics.The Nine being involved in both these activities opens the door to the idea that they can break the fourth wall and collect “treasure from other places and times” or something like that, an actual lore explanation as to why things from Halo, Myth and Marathon are being given out as rewards.The free activity promises “iconic weapons to collect,” but it doesn’t say that they are necessarily from Destiny.
